PRESEASON PREVIEW: BUXTON FACE STOCKPORT IN PENULTIMATE FRIENDLY

UP NEXT:

Buxton are back at home and under the lights as they face a Stockport County B side at TSS on 29th July with a 7:30pm kickoff.

The Bucks

The match followed Buxton’s 3-2 victory over Manchester City’s Under-21s at the weekend.

Ryan Viggars opened the scoring in the first half, before Luke Brennan doubled the lead early in the second. However, City fought back with goals from Cavan Sullivan and Divine Mukasa to draw level. In the 78th minute, Brennan scored his second of the game to seal victory for the Bucks.

Reflecting on the performance, manager John McGrath said:

“I think if you were a neutral, you were treated to a very good game of football. Two sides trying to do it the right way.

“The ethos of Man City is engrained right through, from the first team down to the 23s, 18s and 20s and who we played today.

“It was a really good game and great to get minutes in the lads’ legs again. It was a different type of game because there was a lot of possession we were chasing.”
