Chesterfield welcome FC Halifax Town to The Technique Stadium for what is an important game for both clubs. The Spirietes will look to bounce back after falling to a late defeat against Bromley on Saturday whereas Pete Wild's men will look to continue momentum from their victory at The Shay.
The Opposition
The Shaymen have only lost once in their last five and come into the game on the back of a 4-2 win over King’s Lynn Town. Halifax were 2-0 down after 25 minutes however before the break they got back on level terms and put another two past Lynn in the second half to claim the win.
Despite scoring four on Saturday, Halifax conceded four a few days earlier on Tuesday when they faced Wrexham.
Pete Wild’s side are now 6th in the league, one place and one point above the Spirietes therefore this meeting between the two sides is a big game.
One-To-Watch
Jake Hyde- The striker joined Halifax Town in the Summer on a two year deal from Woking. During his time with the Cards, Hyde scored 27 goals in 60 appearances.
A good proportion of the 30-year-old's career was enjoyed in the Football League with clubs including Barnet, Stevenage and York City however he had a stint in Scotland where he represented Lochee United, Dundee and Dunfermline.
The Maidenhead-born striker also played for his hometown club when they were in the National League South on a loan basis before signing permanently after they won promotion to the National League.
Since joining the Shaymen, Hyde has found the back of the net eight times this season.
Previous Meetings
Since the club’s reformation Halifax have faced Chesterfield four times. Last season the Shaymen got the better of the Spirietes on both occasions- they won 3-2 at the Technique Stadium before claiming a 1-0 win in the return fixture at The Shay.
Team News
James Rowe said that midfielder Curtis Weston will be assessed ahead of the game. He came off against Bromley due to a sore achillies.
Gavin Gunning is expected to return to the starting eleven after missing Tuesday’s game because Rowe said he can't play three games per week due to the hamstring injury he is recovering from.
Chesterfield haven’t had much luck with injuries in recent weeks. Key players Akwasi Asante, Tom Denton and Haydn Hollis are all out until at least next season (Asante until Christmas).

“They have been in this league position for the last two years for a reason. They have recruited well again, and they are looking to get that play-off place like us.
“It’s no different. We are in exactly the same position with a couple of games in hand and they come to our place first. We go to theirs on the last game of the season.”
