PREVIEW: Town look to get back to winning ways against play-off hopefuls Bromley

Chesterfield take on Bromley for the first of two meetings between the sides in eleven days.

The Opposition

Andy Woodman’s side make the trip to the Technique Stadium on the back of a 4-3 win over Woking in midweek. They also earned a hard-fought point away at Stockport a few weeks back under the BT Sport cameras.

The game against the Spirietes will be Andy Woodman’s fifth game in charge of Bromley after he was appointed at the end of May following the shock dismissal of long-serving boss Neil Smith. Woodman has made his side hard to beat with two wins and two draws so far.

One-To-Watch

Michael Cheek- The Bromley man is top scorer not only for his team but the division on 20 goals. The striker’s previous clubs include: Chelmsford City, Braintree Town, Dagenham & Redbridge and Ebbsfleet United. Chesterfield fans might remember his time at Ebbsfleet because it was his penalty which was saved by Will Evans in that epic game at the Technique Stadium.

Previous Meetings

Chesterfield are winless against the Ravens in four meetings. Last time out at the Technique Stadium Bromley took all three points back to South London with a 2-1 win.

Team News

James Rowe revealed that Jak McCourt has suffered a setback in his return from injury. He also said that the club don’t yet know the severity of Akwasi Asante’s injury and are awaiting scan results.

Rowe’s Thoughts

“They are a strong team. The new manager has had a good start with the wins and a draw. They’re going to be coming here full of confidence themselves.

“They are going to want to get another positive result. They’ve shown what they can do on TV against Stockport as well where they grew into the game.

“We know what threats they have got. They have obviously got a goalscorer up top in Michael [Cheek], he’s a big threat with his goal return.”
